About

Videostar7's Zombie Tower, commonly abbreviated as 'VZT', is a game created by Videostar7 and TheKingRed_X on RetroStudio, it aims to capture and retell the authentic gameplay of the original Zombie Tower games (ZT/ZT2) with its own unique blend of new features such as Quality of Life changes, new weapons, seasonal events and much more,

The game has received a number of enhancements ever since its Alpha release in 2021, slowly but surely taking more steps to help maintain the original quality and factors which was available in the original release while attempting to modernise its gameplay for a modern audience so that both new and experienced players of the game can enjoy what it has to offer.

Gameplay

The objective behind Videostar7's Zombie Tower is to make your way to the top of the tower without dying to the hordes of zombies which spawn on the 29 floors that populate the tower itself - you are forced to work under a strict timelimit that only increases everytime you reach a new floor, meaning that playing rounds also become a match of racing against the clock using the tools in which you choose to bring to the tower, which can be obtained from the Shop using Money,

Money is the primary currency - it is used in order to buy weapons from the Main Shop, Godrick the Hunter (upcoming) and the Merchant (upcoming) You can buy many items from these shops, including primary and melee weapons which each are used in order to help you in climbing up the tower further, you gain cash from both killing zombies and also beating the Giant and touching the Golden Sword at the top granting you and the others who survived 10,000 cash each.

Shop GUI found inside of Zombie Tower (regular)

Users are able to add their newly acquired weapons to one of the five different Loadouts available, each Loadout being able to hold a total of 5 different items (Primary/Melee/Tools)

Upon reaching the top of the Tower you will be initiated into a boss fight with The Giant, after reaching half health he will start spawning in enemies to assist himself in defeating you and taking the fight away from him

After beating him, you will be able to claim the sword and recieve the following rewards:

10,000 Cash
The Conquerors' Sword
Merchant Ticket (upcoming)

Events

Events were first introduced in 15 December 2023 when Bleak Winter released as the first ever official event for Videostar7's Zombie Tower, the event was also officially hosted as one of the five different games that were apart of the Collectors Gift of Badger Badger Badger in Giftsplosion 2023.

Bleak Winter introduced a new Event Map that was exclusively able to played within the specific timeframe that Giftsplosion ran for, as well as a new 'Blunderbuss' weapon that is still exclusive to the gamemode and not able to be purchased from the in-game shop, newly designed enemies were also created specifically for the Event Map ranging from regular zombies, mini-bosses and a new boss known as the Necromancer that players must have beaten whilst being alive to be awarded the 'A Fragment of Festivity' badge, which was the badge you must have obtained along with the other five available badges that needed to have been collected by a player in order to qualify to receive the Collectors Gift of Badger Badger Badger.

The map is split up into several different areas that players must have navigated through if they wished to have progressed to the final boss, these being (in the following order)

Town
Castle Docks + Dungeon
Main Hall
Castle Courtyard

Bleak Winter: Part 2 is the second event released into Videostar7's Zombie Tower, it released officially on 7 September 2024, instead of following on from the previous ending that was given at the end of the original version it aims to tell a different story, however this time told within a parallel universe prior to the first event making them completely seperate from each-other

Unlike the previous version of what little hints are given to the story told in Bleak Winter: Part #1, the second act tells an alternative tale completely disregarding a users' prior knowledge to what happened in the events following Act 1 - in this universe, a story is instead told of War and Survival, aiming to be a sharp twist to the themes portrayed in the original event - this event at the time of writing marks the biggest update to the game since its initial release in November 2023, featuring an entirely revitalized version of the original Bleak Winter map with new set pieces, enemies and increasing the general length of the maps playtime - once again, in order to play, the user is required to be in solo mode to access the map

‌‌

The event map also features the addition of a new limited time shop in which seven new weapons are able to be obtained and permanently added to a users' loadout - the full list can be found below:

Combat Lantern
Exorcist
Avian
Blunderbuss
The Drilling
Arkstiche Wut
The Afterburner

Six of the seven weapons are able to be purchased the only one being excluded being The Afterburner which can only be obtained by going to a certain section on the Bleak Winter map, afterwhich it can be added to your loadout for free

The game also added five new badges to the already vast pool of currently obtainable ones inside of the game, giving users an extra level of challenge - in order to better encourage people to play through the map multiple times, certain weapons located inside the shop such as the The Drilling and Arkstiche Wut are only eligible by obtaining their required badges plus the required cash to purchase them, these badges in question being:

Beat Bleak Winter: Part 2
Nomad
Scrambled Screams
Brothers In Arms
Einfrierender Untergang

The update was also marked a change in tides with several features bundled in with the update being created by other members of the community or commissioned by the developers of the game - examples of this include the highly anticipated Weeping Angel enemy (exclusive to the Bleak Winter: Part 2 map) created by KatzkriegBop, the other being the Promocodes System programmed by KaesteUltraBlox allowing users to redeem exclusive rewards such as extra cash, kills and wins for their following of the games' progress in development
