	―-Game Description

Info :

"Prehistoric Thing: Ancient Life Simulator", or simply just "Prehistoric Thing", is a survival-centered game that takes place within the Paleozoic Era.

There is a separate test game from Feburary 13, 2021, of which hasn't been updated for the past 3 years.

Gameplay

The gameplay of Prehistoric Thing revolved around surviving as a Paleozoic animal, filling up needs such as thirst and hunger.

The selection of animals you can play as as of October, 7th, 2025.

After joining the game you will be brought to a lobby, the most important part of this lobby being an NPC called "Ask me for help.", they will give extra game information if you interact with them. To the left of the screen is a "Click here to play!" button, if clicked, it will bring up a separate selection screen that lists all of the playable animals, which allows you to play the game. Clicking any of the icons within the darker area of the GUI will cause you to spawn as the selected creature, icons that are red are Carnivores, icons that are green are Herbivores (the only exception to this is the Isotelus, it is a filter feeder).

After selecting your creature, you must survive on either diet you are and refill your thirst with puddles. The main way to progress in the game is to be alive for as long as possible, which will give you 1 experience every second, this is the only way in the game to grow. Once your reach the required amount, clicking or pressing the Grow (number XP) at the top of the screen will progress your growth stage.

Some animals, specifically Cephalaspis, Isotelus and Hylonomus lack growth stages all together whilst Dunkleosteus and Helicoprion have 4 growth stages, the most of any playable currently.

Badges

The game currently has 3 badges in total, all of them purely cosmetic.

BADGES
NAME	DESCRIPTION	HOW TO EARN
Secret Hideout	Live underground in the tunnels	Enter the underground tunnels on the small desert island as Dictodon
Dunkleosteus!	You rule the primordial ocean	Get the 4th growth stage of the Dunkleosteus
Caution : Wet Floor	There's no sign, how was I supposed to know?	Fall into fake water in the lobby, to the side of the museum area.

Trivia

The only animal in game to have its own separate diet is the Isotelus, of which is still classified under the Herbivore team.
Jaekelopterus used to have a water bar, which once made it the hardest animal to play as due to it being aquatic.
By-far the strongest animal in game is Dunkleosteus at its 4th growth stage, easily beating the second strongest, Helicoprion.
