Rules

NOTE: DO NOT USE THIS WIKI PAGE SECTION FOR APPEALING YOUR DISCORD BAN. DOING THIS WILL GET YOU DECLINED.

ADDITIONAL NOTE: Even if something is not included in the rules, use common sense. It may save your account...

NOTE: The RetroDev Wiki Server Rules have been entirely rewritten on February 20, 2024. This is a more simplified version, but if you want to know specifics, there is an archived channel for old server rules. Type "rules" into Browse Channels.

Bannable Offenses

No prior offenses are required for bans.

1. Posting NSFW (Not Safe For Work) images/messages. This can include, but is not limited to: gore, vore, or pornography. You are also prohibited from sharing links that lead to said images/messages.
2. Using discriminatory speech. Nothing transphobic, racist, homophobic, and sharing personal information without consent. Using typos does not warrant discriminatory words.
3. Self-advertising, even through direct messages.
Although not mentioned in the channel, it is obvious to most people that underage people are not allowed onto Discord. If you are found to be under 13 years of age, you will be banned.

Strikable Offenses

These offenses will get you a strike, and if you get 3 strikes, you get a ban from the server.

4. Bullying or harassing users, making inappropriate jokes or remarks, and discussing sexual topics or posting explicit content.
5. Posting intentionally loud audio/video files(a volume warning is okay), and being intentionally loud in voice channels.(Loud! = funny)
6. Spam-pinging users/admins for no legitimate reason.
(7 is currently missing, there is no public info about Rule 7 as of May 11, 2025)
8. Impersonating others, or using misleading nicknames/usernames.

Warnable Offenses

These offenses will get you a warn, and enough warns will result in a strike.

9. Advertising RetroStudio games outside designated channels. If you want to advertise your own game, create a forum post under #retro-builds. If you are looking to play with others, use #retro-chat.
10. Keep political discussion to a minimum.

Strike System

Strikes are given-out through the RetroBot strike system.

First Strike: Your first (1) strike will result in a Three (3) hour mute.
Second Strike: Your second (2) strike will result in a One (1) day mute.
Third Strike: Your third (3) strike will result in a ban from the server.

Off-site Revivals

The discussion or mention of off-site revivals is not allowed in Retro Dev. Off-site revivals require you connecting to third-party sites and installing third-party software not controlled by Roblox. This can pose an issue to safety and security and goes against core values at Retro Dev. Choose to play on off-site revivals at your own risk, just keep it out of this server. On-site revivals will never be blacklisted as they do not pose a threat to your safety or security.

History

On November 18th, 2022 around 9:38 AM EST the Retro dev Discord server was attacked and raided by an Impersonated Admin which was done by a team of Roblox exploiters (mainly attacking and selling exploits in RetroStudio) which resulted in 100k Messages being leaked on github. This is the first time that the Retro Dev Discord server was raided and the first time almost happened in 2021 when an Admin got hacked and the server went into a lockdown to prevent it. The Leaks were spreading around in the ORC community including other Revivals. 2 infamous users were unbanned while 4 were supposed to be unbanned during it such as Fanboy, GalaxyElijah and steadiyer etc. but never happened due to there not being enough time. This was the largest ORC Leak ever since the John Bowling IP leakings.

On January 21st, 2023, there was a fake developer role that almost everyone got and they could ping it. Shortly after, it got removed.

In July 2023, a viral meme involving Dracula dancing in RetroStudio circulated on Russian-speaking TikTok, leading to a massive influx of Russian users both to the game and server. This resulted in the creation of the #rs-фембой channel on 19 of July, which was subsequently hidden on 12 of November 2023 and later replaced by #russia on 14 of December of the same year.

On August 9, 2026, the #general channel got archived, with its visibility limited only to Retro Dev Developers and Admins,^[1] and replaced with #nice-general; the #retro-chat channel was affected in the same manner on the next day. These actions took place after numerous users getting mass reported and receiving Discord account limitations for past messages, regardless whether they were of jokeful intent. robloxandtyler was notified with a report from Discord, leading to him privating the two channels to comply.^[2]

The Dungeon

The Dungeon is a channel in the Retro Dev Discord server. It is only available for people who have the Dungeon Key role, which was given out randomly. According to AyRay, anyone who speaks out of #dungeon with the role will have their role permanently removed. As of August 21, 2021, 10:20 PM _(GMT), the only users that have the role are Cristiano#0069 and seuu#1175.

The color for the Dungeon Key role is #030303.

Retro Jenga Incident

On January 14th 2025 A user by the name of "toonarch" sent a message "hello retro jenga" which spiraled into many people spamming either the :Retrojenga: emoji or the :Josh: emoji ^{[Citation needed]} (both of those emojis based on Retro jenga the RetroStudio game and JoshAmour) After a while The mods decided to lock the channel, resorting in people going to #Retro-chat, which also got locked ^{[Citation needed]}. Another user mentioned to try invading wacky-memes, which made that channel get locked, After a while a user called esasd_50489 made a General forum post about spamming retro jenga and josh ^{[Citation needed]}, TersisWilvin asked people to just chat in that channel instead of flooding channels like general and retro chat. ^{[Citation needed]}
