Below is an older version my bad formatting tutorial, it was now repurposed to be Retro Dev Wiki:Formatting 101.

Formatting for dummies: it will be horribly explained.

basically formatting is just making a wiki page, but you can make those stuff cool.

here for example is Bold & Cursive, if you use Visual editing you should see a "B" for bold and "C" for cursive. this may change depending on what language you set fandom to.

but wait! How did i just make small text?? If you look next to cursive there's a button with a T on it, clicking it will show you a drop down of more advanced stuff like

Text with a cool line under it
Computer code
~~Text with strike through~~
^{SUPER script}
_{SUB script}
BIG
small
Text but selecting it is suffering!!!
and a remove button i can't add here

with this cool stuff i can make _{really heckin small text.}

there's a few other things i haven't mentioned like

these things,,,, formatted like == this ==

this list without numbers! it is mostly used everywhere on the wiki,
its cool.

this is a list with numbers,
it sucks.

the numbered text is formatted like "# this" and unnumbered lists are formatted like "* this"

ok this is gonna be really boring so I'm going to templates now!!! hooray!!!

OKAY THESE ARE TEMPLATES!!!

have you seen Stub David before? if you're on mobile you haven't but he's pretty cool.

this guy is cool, he's supposed to be added to smaller wiki pages like David (ironic).

now... I'm not gonna explain EVERY template but ill highlight some important ones.

that thing next to us is a user template. it should be in every single player page on this wiki, it may seem intimidating at first but its pretty easy. For images simply add the file name of the image into Image1 like "JustMonika.gif" as example. Speaking of images...

Links and images

Welcome to pain, because you will never escape fandom's horrible image sizing. heres an example image, but hey! you don't want it to be like that right? well if you click on the image in edit mode you can change it to be in the middle. Or even at the side! who cares you can (mostly) format it how you like it. Speaking of formatting. this text is actually flowing uninterrupted, that's pretty cool especially when you put the image in the middle for example. now you see it in the middle right? its kind of annoying in terms of text so it is usually NEVER used on the main wiki. you could instead use it on your user page! (if you like that for some reason.)

Alternatively you can make the image COMPLETELY un text flowable which is kind of like the top image but its on the left, why would you do that? well... everyone does it so we don't care.

Links aren't usually annoying. For example, heres a link to Promo Codes! Links are formatted like you are spamton from deltarune. "this" haha spamton spamton the guy... wait what was i talking about? whatever...

SPEAKING OF SPAMTON. YOU CAN LINK TO OTHER PAGES LIKE DELTARUNE.COM!!! which is by clicking the thing next to Retro Dev Wiki in the link button.

thanks for reading all this grumbling but the "tutorial" is done here... FOR NOW.

SIGNATURE 101: FOR TALK PAGES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you heard of Talk pages? No? Me neither! but thats what signatures are for. keep in mind that time stamps are added automatically to your signatures.

Well, i only really have one example of a signature and thats mine. (User:Manan67891)

Heres an example of it: Manan G. Manan (Wanna talk to a [BIG SHOT]? ☏) -

How the heck did i do that? its NOT simple actually, Basically before you do anything, make sure to check if signatures can be formatted in wiki text, then we will go into the basics.

Let's use User:AngryBirdsFanboy06 for this example, you should know how to use links first, for Fandom it redirects user talks to the message wall but still puts it in signatures. Use (Message Wall) links so your TALK link shouldnt be red anymore.

AngryBirdsFanboy06 (Talk)

this should make this but its pretty boring;

AngryBirdsFanboy06 (Talk)

Why dont we spice up this signature a little? lets simply make the username a random color... like BLUE for example,

If your familiar with the promocodes wiki table this should look familiar to you. also keep in mind the code doesnt like capitalization so dont "correct" it.

<span style="color: darkblue">AngryBirdsFanboy06</span> (Talk)

theres a lot of other things you can do with signatures, for more information i reccomend checking out wikipedia's version: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Signature_tutorial.

things you SHOULDNT do with them.

AngryBirdsFanboy06 (Talk)

big signatures, they might be cool but they ARE annoying.

AngryBirdsFanboy06

(Talk)

signatures with linebreaks: why?

this also includes some impersonation like heres an example on if Fanboy wanted to impersonate thefinnishone (why would he do that???)

DaFinnishOne (REAL!!) (Talk)
