Description

Watch a TV! is a game based off of Cable TV & Socialize by MichalGamer2500. The game lets players relax in a house (primarily the living room) and watch a television that can be turned on and off. Players may also use a teleport button to be in the TV, allowing for players to roleplay and mimic television stations. The game is infamous as the game genre has been repeatedly copied on RetroStudio, leading to other versions of the game.

It is also the 3rd most visited game on RetroStudio.

On February 1, 2025, the game was privated as over the past few months the game has become a hotspot for degenerate behavior on RetroStudio, which worsened its reputation over time, but it reopened one day later with "Big Brother is watching you" posters plastered around the whole map. A third thumbnail was added. It was put under review on the same day^[1] and reopened again shortly after.

Gameplay

The game is a hangout game with elements of secret exploration as players are placed into a three-level house: the first floor, the second floor, and the basement. There are three TVs: One in the spawn area (living room) which is set to a news station. The second television is upstairs, which is set to a weather station. The third TV is in the basement, which is also set to a news station, but the style and decals are different.

Some consumables are available on the first floor. Popcorn and cola can be found on the coffee table at the first TV, and one can walk in front of the oven for a taco. There are many secret locations you can access with emote clipping. An example of this could be the disco room or the long hallway.

The game is updated pretty often but not much is really done to the updates. Most updates are done by Michakeee & borjagavin, they both work as a group and collab each other's work to make an update. Even though it may take some time for updates to be processed Michakeee & Gavin still complete the updates as a team. They also match in the holidays by putting in the effort to make a holiday themed map! Much more is to come to Watch A TV!
