The joke caused vandalism from Impersonation to Capoto's Retro Dev Wiki page thrice; on the third time (February 16, 2026), four other users followed her actions before the page was indefinetly protected from editing.

"how we get the gift"

The Broken English phrase "How we get the gift 🎁" is used as a pun for new RetroStudio players completing Christmas-related RetroStudio Events, especially Giftsplosions. The phrase was first ever said by Wowzers on December 16, 2023;^[4] he responded to every reply message to him at that time with the phrase, eventually spreading to other members.

The current form of the joke's popularity was established after it saw a massive boost two days after the start of BLOXTober 2024, in a similar manner to when it first began: Vibinium said the phrase, with many others later following the suit within minutes.

"Newgen"

🟢👀/Green Movement

Green Movement, otherwise known as Vision of Green, Regeen/Geen, Greentweet, or just 🟢👀 is an inside joke made by Supermario928 (known on Discord as Pipedream). The inside joke intermixes previously used memes created both inside and outside of Retro Dev, great examples being the resurgence of Newgen Confederation memes (Newgen Confederation memes are a subpart of the Newgen inside joke) and the adjustment of the meme Ma Got Pranked to look green respectively.

Because the inside joke is operating as a composite (in this case describing a meme that is made up of several other memes), it has led to the creation of a ton of meme imagery that can be categorized as part of the Green Movement. List of such content include:

The creation of the Greentweet
The Greenification of other popular media
The resurgence of the Newgen Confederation memes

(small paragraph for each of these sub-categories is needed)
